As a young program founded jointly between MCW and Prevea Health, we are thriving here in the rapidly diversifying city of Green Bay, WI. Our mission is to train well-rounded, patient-centered doctors who serve Northeast Wisconsin well. The area is unique in its ability to provide rural, suburban, and urban environments for training as well as a wide variety of specialists. We serve a diverse patient population and continue to expand our clinic offerings. Salary:
All residents within a given post graduate year receive the same salary. Salaries are pro-rated for part-time and partial-year appointments. The salary rate for AY2025-2026 is as follows:
- PGY1 $69,041
- PGY2 $72,033
- PGY3 $74,969
Time Away:
- Vacation – 15 business days a year
- Continued Medical Education – three days per year
- Sick Leave – seven days per year

MCW-Prevea Green Bay Family Medicine Residency Program Application Process
The MCW-Prevea Green Bay Family Medicine Residency Program participates in the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP). (ACGME #: 1205600678 / NRMP #: 2262120C3). Look for Wisconsin Northern & Central GME Consortium.
Applications will be accepted through Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS). Invitations to interview will be sent via ERAS September-December.
Application Requirements
- Applications are accepted only through the AAMC Electronic Residency Application Service
Interview Selection Preferences Will Be Given to Applicants Who Have
- Rigorous US clinical experiences for international graduates
- Passing USMLE or COMLEX Step I score
- Excellent written and Oral Communication
- Applicants must post a passing USMLE or COMLEX Step 2 score prior to rank day (but can obtain interviews if test is still “pending”)
Applications will be viewed on a rolling basis. Interviews will begin in early October and end in January.
How We Use Signaling:
The Green Bay Family Medicine residency uses the ERAS “signal” as our initial screen in the application process. All applicants that signal will receive close review by the program director and coordinator. Applicants that signal the residency are highly likely (but not guaranteed) to receive an interview with our residency program, especially if they are meeting our internal quality standards. We invite applicants to signal us on ERAS if there are genuinely interested in highly ranking our residency program.
